Our Mission

The Maine Strong Memorial Foundation seeks to provide temporary financial relief to Maine families that are touched by unexpected tragedy. We aim to raise funds through annual events to provide donation matches.

Where will your donations go?

Your generous donations play a crucial role in providing essential support and making a real difference in the lives of those affected by the tragedy in Lewiston, ME on October 25th, 2023.

Here’s how your contributions will be allocated:

Direct Support: Your 2024 contributions will primarily aid the families of the 18 individuals we lost. The goal is to provide immediate financial assistance to help lighten the heavy load they carry following this unexpected loss.

Secondary Support: Donations from the Maine Strong Memorial Foundation will help the Maine Resiliency Center (MRC) cover the costs of recreation/wellness activities for guests, food for programs and events, and physical and outdoor engagement activities that support whole health and recovery by creating opportunities for connection and joy (such as a trip to a local rock-climbing gym for youth impacted by October’s tragedy).

Looking ahead, objectives for 2025 and beyond will be to provide temporary financial relief to anyone in the state of Maine who has been impacted by unexpected tragedy with guidelines to be defined. A small percentage of money raised from the 2024 event will be held to establish a pool of money to begin with.

We are committed to using the funds raised to continue to offer support and strength to statewide in the years to come. By donating, you become a part of a compassionate circle of support, extending hope and solidarity when it's needed most.
